Powerboat level 2 Course (College students only!)

Day one 0930 to 1800 (TBC) Day two 0900 to 1600 (TBC).  Long busy days, please arrive on time with food drink and snacks. 

£15 cost to cover essential Start powerboating Handbook, RYA Syllabus/Logbook, and Internationally recognised RYA Powerboat Two Certificate.

The RYA level 2 powerboat course is essentially your driving license for the water! This course will give you a solid grounding in all aspects of powerboat 'driving'. The completion of this course will enable you to hire powerboats and is an essential qualification if you are looking for any sort of career in water sports instruction.  After completion you can use this to apply for an ICC to show competency when hiring boats abroad in the future.

 

Run over two days this course covers high-speed handling, low speed manoeuvres and man over board recovery. The course also provides detailed information regarding boat safety, including equipment to carry and collision rules.  The course will be run on Walney Channel (Near Barrow-in-Furness), and Coniston Water.

The course is non-residential, although many accommodation options are available locally.

 

Pre- requisites are as follows:

No previous experience necessary

Minimum age 12 (Candidates under 16 will be issued with an endorsed certificate)
